Maria Whittaker is an English model and dancer best known for her career as a Page 3 girl in the Seventies.
She was born October 7 1969 in Hounslow, England and made her début as a Page 3 girl in the British newspaper, The Sun, at the age of 16, becoming one of the most celebrated glamour models of the 1980s alongside Samantha Fox and Linda Lusardi.
As a dancer, Whittaker appeared as an uncredited dancer on "The Benny Hill Show" in 1983, appearing to the right of Louise English singing "Paradise" on January 3, 1985. She also appeared in the movie "Whoops Apocalypse."
Her appearance in The Sun parlayed her into more modeling jobs, she appeared on the cover of Palace Software's computer game, "Barbarian: The Ultimate Warrior" along with Michael Van Wijk from "Gladiators" in 1987, appearing together again on the cover of "Barbarian II: The Dungeon of Drax." She also appeared on "X-Mas Strip Poker," a computer game released in 1988 for the Commodore Amiga, Commodore 64 and 128.
Voted Page 3 Girl Of The Year in 1989, Whittaker was ranked as #80 in "Glamour Girls: An Illustrated Encyclopedia." She starred in her second movie, "Tank Malling," in 1989.
After retiring from modelling, Whittaker attempted a singing career with the band, "Rhythm Zone," in 1990 that failed, and she returned to modeling for men's magazines. She eventually met and married rapper Michael West who performed as Congo Natty and Rebel MC among other names. She has two children. She also has a younger sister, Lisa Whittaker, who was also briefly a Page 3 girl, and a brother, David Whittaker, who is a London accountant.
