Mamood Ramsun is a Hindu chef and caterer who often pops up as a friend or foil of Chow Mein who often calls him "Cookie" or "Gunga Din." He seems a bit mentally sharper than Mein, but he often gets just as high-strung.
Coming from Birmingham, he first appears in Mein's Restaurant ("If you can't see it or smell it, we ain't got it.") trying to get lunch, but Mein talks him to getting the Chu-Chin Soy, later laughing at him for ordering it. (Chow also annoys a German customer (Nicholas Parsons). Ramsun later sees Mein at his job at the airport and as a rival caterer for a client (Henry McGee).
