Dilys Watling is an English actress, singer and performer best known for her appearances on "The Benny Hill Show." She was born as Dilys Rhys-Jones on May 5, 1942 in Eton, England, the daughter of Jack Watling and Patricia Hicks, and sister of Deborah Watling and Giles Watling, who also became actors.
She attended St Mary's Convent School in Woodford, afterward attending acting school. She went on to act in repertory theatre and at the Bristol Old Vic. She also made occasional film appearances in the movies, "Two Left Feet" and "Theatre of Death" as well as the TV shows, "Coronation Street," "The Benny Hill Show" and "The Two Ronnies." She was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her Broadway debut in the short-lived musical, "Georgy," in 1970. It proved to be her sole Broadway credit.
Her stage credits include the musical "Pickwick, " a 1964 adaptation of Dickens's "The Pickwick Papers," "Sweeney Todd" in the West End in 1980 and the West End multi-media Dave Clark rock musical "Time" in 1986.
Watling has been married twice. She had one child during her marriage with actor Owen Teale before they divorced.
